Isny (dpa/lsw) - While fleeing a traffic check, a driver in the Ravensburg district crashed into a barrier post. The man ignored the clear police stop signs and drove through several towns from Wangen im Allgäu to downtown Isny, as the Ravensburg police headquarters reported on Saturday.
Several patrols tried to stop the car on Friday evening. The chase only ended when the 28-year-old driver overlooked the barrier post in Isny. The driver and his passenger then tried to flee on foot, but were caught by officers.
The police are now investigating the reasons for the escape and checking whether other road users were endangered.
