Karlsruhe (dpa / lsw) - The palace garden in Karlsruhe was cleared on Thursday night due to disturbances and quarrels. According to the police, there were insults and bottles thrown in the direction of the officers.

Around 10:00 p.m., around 3,000 people were in small groups on the Schlossplatz. "The mood probably became more tense to aggressive with increasing time and the consumption of alcohol," said the police. Residents have complained about massive disturbances. "Furthermore, there were obviously several arguments involving bodily harm."

Officials began clearing the area around midnight. Some of the unreasonable would have opposed this at first. Three people were arrested for insult. According to police, the evacuation was completed in about an hour. The police were initially not aware of any injuries.
