Baden-Württemberg: Process for gathering at Kretschmann's house at the end

Sigmaringen (dpa/lsw) - The trial of a demonstration by opponents of the Corona policy near the home of Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) is about to be completed. A verdict is expected today, according to a court spokesman. The 52-year-old accused is accused of having been the leader of the unauthorized assembly in front of Kretschmann's house.

In an accelerated procedure because of the unregistered meeting, the man initially did not appear before the district court on February 21. He wrote in a letter the same day and stated that he was ill. Judge Kristina Selig imposed a penalty order of 150 daily rates of 200 euros each, i.e. 30,000 euros. The defendant appealed against this.

The public prosecutor's office in Hechingen initiated accelerated proceedings because of the elevator on February 13. According to the police, around 60 demonstrators tried to get to Kretschmann's house. The district office in Sigmaringen had issued a general decree prohibiting elevators, so-called walks and rallies in the streets around the head of government's private residence.
