Baden-Württemberg: Reduced printing locations for Stuttgart newspapers

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The Stuttgarter Zeitung Verlagsgesellschaft is reducing its locations for the printing business in the region. In future, printing will only take place in Esslingen instead of in Stuttgart and Esslingen. As the company announced on Tuesday in Stuttgart, the print shop in Esslingen will initially be closed on August 1 of this year - the print shop in Stuttgart on April 1, 2023. Then a newly founded print shop at the Esslingen site is to start operations.

"We will modernize our printing activities and reorganize them structurally," said Managing Director Herbert Dachs, according to a statement. This is the only way to successfully maintain the business area economically in the long term.

According to the company, the bundling of activities will also lead to job cuts. The works councils are looking for socially acceptable solutions.
