Baden-Württemberg: Report: Land collects 5.5 million euros in inheritances

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - According to a media report, the state of Baden-Württemberg inherited 5.5 million euros in 2022. This was reported by the "Stuttgarter Zeitung" and "Stuttgarter Nachrichten" (Saturday), citing the Ministry of Finance. In the previous year there were a total of 887 such forced inheritances in the south-west. The most important individual case was estimated at cash assets of 2.8 million euros. The previous year would thus fall short of the state inheritance record in the southwest of 2021: At that time, seven million euros flowed into the state coffers through 987 fiscal inheritances. Fiscal inheritances are wills for which no natural heirs can be found or for which the inheritance has not been inherited.
