Baden-Württemberg: Sandhausen wins thanks to Kinsombi: Red for Bielefeld's coach

Sandhausen (dpa/lsw) - Newcomer David Kinsombi made a dream debut at SV Sandhausen and shot his new club to the opening win against Arminia Bielefeld. The 26-year-old scored both goals (11th and 63rd minute) for SVS in the 2-1 (1-0) win against Ostwestfalen on the first day of the second Bundesliga.

The new coach Uli Forte saw the red card on Saturday for the Bielefeld team, who made it 1-1 in front of 4,709 spectators through Masaya Okugawa (59th). The 48-year-old threw the ball back onto the field two minutes before the break - just as the hosts wanted to throw in another ball. In the 47th minute, Arminia's midfielder Silvan Sidler saw a yellow card for a foul.

"I wanted to catch or block the ball, then it jumped back into play. The referee then told me that I had provoked a delay in the game. Of course I was totally taken aback," Forte told Sky TV after the game. "If I had known, I would have just let the ball bounce over me. It's a shame it went like that."

Kinsombi, who came from Hamburger SV and, like his brother Christian, played in SVS's attacking midfield, pushed the ball through the legs of Arminia keeper Stefanos Kapino for an early lead. The guests had a double chance just before his goal. First Sidler failed with a header to Sandhausen goalkeeper Patrick Drewes, then Florian Krüger hit the crossbar. Outnumbered, Bielefeld made it 1-1 with a low shot from Okugawa. Just four minutes later, Kinsombi shot the ball into the top left corner to decide.
