Baden-Württemberg: Second fire within a month in a waste disposal company

Pforzheim (dpa / lsw) - A fire broke out on the premises of a waste disposal company in Pforzheim for the second time within a month. The federal highway 294 was therefore temporarily closed, and rail traffic near Pforzheim was also at a standstill because the extinguishing water supply also ran via the nearby tracks in the south-west of the city, as the police announced on Tuesday evening.

The fire brigade quickly had the flames under control, the disposal company said in the evening. However, the extinguishing work would continue until well into the night. According to the company, no one was injured. The cause of the fire is still unclear.

A warehouse on the company's premises burned down completely at the end of July. At that time, several press machines and vehicles were destroyed - the damage was worth millions. A spokesman for the company said that arson could no longer be ruled out. Commercial waste, paper and rubble were mainly stored in the hall affected this time.
