Hohenstadt (dpa / lsw) - An obviously confused senior caused several accidents and damage of 20,000 euros on an odyssey in his car. The man was noticed on Thursday near Hohenstadt (Göppingen district) when he drove in a serpentine manner and repeatedly endangered oncoming traffic before turning onto unpaved dirt roads, according to a police spokesman on Friday.
A witness alerted the police after finding the remains of a recent accident on a tree in the wooded area. But the senior had long since driven on and caused two minor accidents with other drivers – without stopping afterwards. At the entrance to a town, after crossing a meadow, the man parked his car in a parking lot, where the police found him and ended the odyssey. The confused senior, who could not remember anything, was handed over to the care of his relatives, according to the police.
