Hockenheim (dpa / lsw) - At least one shot was fired from a police service weapon during an argument in Hockenheim (Rhein-Neckar district). One person was injured and taken to a hospital, as a photographer reported on Monday evening, citing emergency services.
Upon request, the Mannheim police confirmed a larger operation in Hockenheim, but initially did not comment on the details.
According to the information, the crime scene was cordoned off. In addition to the police, rescue workers were also deployed. There was initially no information about the background to the argument or the people involved.
According to information from Südwestrundfunk, the State Criminal Police Office has taken over the investigation. It wants to publish a press release on the incident later Monday evening together with the Mannheim public prosecutor.
