Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Stuttgart Airport saw strong growth in passenger numbers in 2022. According to preliminary figures, they climbed by 95.7 percent to 6.9 million, as the airport announced on Thursday. The increase is another positive milestone on the consolidation path. Before the pandemic, in 2019, the airport welcomed 12.72 million passengers.
The number of flight movements increased by 66.2 percent in 2022 to 61,534 take-offs and landings. For 2023, the airport expects a further increase in demand.
Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport has overcome the Corona dent and counted around 1.3 million passengers last year: Baden-Airport in Rheinmünster-Söllingen (Rastatt district) almost reached the record number of 2019, said airport boss Uwe Kotzan. Exact numbers will be available next week. Most passengers take off from the regional airport with the low-cost airline Ryanair.
