Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The number of registered corona infections in Baden-Württemberg has continued to rise in a weekly comparison. According to the State Health Office (LGA), the seven-day incidence is now 238.9 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants nationwide and within seven days, which is 27.9 more than in the LGA report from the previous week. A month ago, however, the incidence was 478.9.
However, it does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation: experts have been assuming for some time that there have been a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI, mainly because by far not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
In the intensive care units in the hospitals, the number of people infected with corona fell slightly by 7 to 73 patients within a week, and in the normal wards by 14 to 520 people being treated in the same period (as of Thursday 4 p.m.).
16,182 people have died from the virus since the pandemic began. That's 44 more than a week ago and 8 more than the day before. The total number of registered corona infections was 3,714,111 on Thursday.
