Baden-Württemberg: Strike: First Eurowings flights from Stuttgart canceled

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Because of the pilots' strike at Eurowings, the first flights from Stuttgart Airport were canceled on Monday. Among other things, connections to Mallorca, Vienna, London or Milan were affected, as the airport announced on its website. As of Monday morning, 21 departures with international and national destinations were cancelled. In addition, 20 arrivals were canceled. This means that around half of the 84 planned Eurowings flights to or from Stuttgart are canceled.

On Tuesday there are 92 flights and on Wednesday 88 flights on the program - how many of them can take place was not clear on Monday morning. The airline assumes that it will be able to realize more than half of the flight offer nationwide, as it announced on Sunday. The flight plans will follow as soon as it is clear how many pilots will report for duty despite the call for a strike.

Passengers are advised to regularly check the status of their flight before arriving at the airport and to contact the airline or tour operator directly if there are any changes.

The pilots' association wants to use the three-day industrial dispute to achieve better working conditions. Eurowings criticized the strike as disproportionate and irresponsible.
