Stuttgart (dpa/lsw) - The German volleyball champion Allianz MTV Stuttgart has signed the Dutch national player Britt Bongaerts for the coming season. The 25-year-old player is moving from the Italian club Bartoccini Fortinfissi Perugia to Stuttgart and will receive a one-year contract, as the DVV Cup winner announced on Friday. After the departures of Ilka Van de Vyver and Julia Nowicka, she and 18-year-old Hanna Kohn will form the duo in the playing position at the Bundesliga club.
"We landed a huge transfer coup with Britt. We've had very good players this season," said coach Tore Aleksandersen. "But Britt brings a lot of experience at an extremely high level." Bongaerts has already gained experience in the Bundesliga, at the beginning of her career she played for the Ladies in Black Aachen, USC Münster and SSC Palmberg Schwerin.
