The Swabians are still waiting for their first win of the season before the ninth game day. For the first time in the almost three-year tenure of VfB coach Pellegrino Matarazzo, doubts about the work of the 44-year-old have been voiced, at least in public. Matarazzo described the duel with top club Union Berlin in advance as a "character test".
