Esslingen (dpa / lsw) - After a shootout in Esslingen, a young man was taken into custody. The 21-year-old suspect is said to have shot his opponents several times during a dispute between rival men, police and prosecutors said on Wednesday. He is being investigated for attempted homicide.
At the beginning of September, witnesses in Esslingen heard shots. Police found projectiles at the scene. Those involved, who were unharmed according to previous knowledge, had fled.
A twelve-strong investigative team tracked down the now detained suspect. Among other things, he is known to the police for violent crimes, special forces arrested the man on Friday. Investigators are looking for three firearms that require a permit in his apartment. Whether the murder weapon is among them is to be investigated.
