Walldorf (dpa / lsw) - A 54-year-old driver was fatally injured in an accident on the A5. The man had left the road to the right near Walldorf (Rhein-Neckar-Kreis) and drove against the protective buffer of the guardrail, the police said. A wagon wheel was torn away by the impact on Wednesday night, which is why the vehicle overturned. It then stopped on the hard shoulder with three wheels. The 54-year-old freed himself from the car. Paramedics then took him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The cause of the accident initially remained unclear.
