Meckenbeuren (dpa/lsw) - The door of a small plane became independent in the air on Friday and crashed into the garden of a social center in Meckenbeuren on Lake Constance. The plane's electronic system informed the pilot about the malfunction of the door before takeoff, a police spokeswoman said.

However, the 45-year-old ignored the signal and took off from nearby Friedrichshafen Airport, where he landed again immediately after losing the door. He now has to face a possible procedure for endangering air traffic. Neither the pilot was injured nor people in the garden in Meckenbeuren.
