Offenburg (dpa / lsw) - In an accident on the Autobahn 5 near Offenburg (Ortenaukreis), three people were injured, one of them seriously. The cause of the accident was believed to be a medical emergency, police said. The 69-year-old driver left the road to the right on Sunday morning and crashed into the guardrail. The car then spun across all lanes in the other direction and crashed into a concrete wall.
The emergency services took the seriously injured driver and the two slightly injured people, a 62-year-old passenger and a 12-year-old passenger, to hospitals. Traffic was briefly diverted to an adjacent parking lot.
