Ludwigsburg (dpa / lsw) - A concrete mixer weighing around 31 tons overturned in Ludwigsburg, causing the driver to be seriously injured. Passers-by rescued the driver on Wednesday with a ladder from the cab, a police spokesman said. He came to a hospital.
The 60-year-old wanted to turn off a steep road and was probably going too fast. "I suspect that he simply underestimated the curve," said the police spokesman. The concrete mixer tipped to the side, operating materials ran onto the road. The emergency services were only able to erect the vehicle with a crane. The road was closed for more than eight hours. According to investigators' estimates, the damage was around half a million euros.
