Vaihingen (dpa / lsw) - A 60-year-old man fell unconscious at the wheel of his truck and died a short time later in the hospital of natural causes. The driver caused an accident on Saturday afternoon when he crashed into an open garage with the truck due to the medical emergency, the police said on Sunday. Accordingly, he had previously driven the truck from his farm in Vaihingen an der Enz (Ludwigsburg district) onto the street and then into a garage opposite.
In addition to the driver, his 28-year-old son, who was not injured in the accident, was in the vehicle. He freed his father from the truck with the help of other first responders. Emergency chaplains from the rescue service looked after the family members at the scene of the accident.
