Friedrichshafen (dpa/lsw) - On the occasion of the Tuningworld Bodensee trade fair, the police had 31 cars temporarily shut down after traffic checks. In addition, 19 drivers had to fix a defect in their vehicle and were only allowed to continue driving later, as the police reported on Monday.
The officials complained about noisy exhaust and exhaust systems and illegal changes to the chassis and wheels. The multi-day event for tens of thousands of tuning fans ended on Sunday in Friedrichshafen.
The law enforcement officers checked around 400 cars. According to the police, there were no illegal car races or serious accidents in the vicinity of the fair.
The mayor of Konstanz, Uli Borchardt, criticized the event. Not only on Lake Constance have citizens complained for years "quite rightly that tuned, senselessly loud vehicles bring noise to our cities," the CDU politician said on Facebook.
