Baden-Württemberg: Two per mille: Wheelchair users drive in wavy lines

Heidelberg (dpa / lsw) - With almost two per mille, a man drove in his motorized wheelchair on a winding road in Heidelberg. According to the police on Tuesday, the 40-year-old had been drunk in his wheelchair a few days earlier.

In the incident on Tuesday night, the police stopped the 40-year-old. During the conversation, they noticed the man's slurred pronunciation and the smell of alcohol, as a police spokeswoman said. He stated that he did not have an identity card with him. However, the officers found it in his fanny pack. A breath alcohol test showed a value of almost two per thousand. The 40-year-old was taken to the station for a blood alcohol test and now faces a charge of drunk driving.

He is said to have been drunk in his wheelchair on Thursday night and resisted the police.
