Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The Verdi services union is demanding 10.5 percent more money for the around 26,000 non-medical employees in the four university clinics in the state. Union official Irene Gölz referred to the burdens resulting from the corona pandemic and inflation in Stuttgart on Tuesday. "It is clear that we need a high salary increase with a clear social component," she said. "The mood is tense, the willingness to strike is correspondingly high. We are well prepared."
Talks start on October 11th. The peace obligation ends on September 30th. From then on, warning strikes are possible. The union demands at least 375 euros more money per month for a term of the collective agreement of twelve months. Verdi is negotiating for the non-medical staff at the locations in Heidelberg, Tübingen, Freiburg and Ulm.
The union also wants to ensure that Verdi members receive an additional 50 euros per month and one more day off, as well as a free family trip home per month for all trainees.
A separate collective agreement with the Uniklinika employers' association applies to the four university hospitals. The doctors are covered by the collective agreement of the doctors in the federal states, the scientific staff as state employees are subject to the collective bargaining regulations of the federal state.
