Stuttgart (dpa/lsw) - VfB Stuttgart would like to continue its successful home series under interim coach Michael Wimmer in the important game against Hertha BSC today. The Swabian Bundesliga team has all won the previous three compulsory games in front of a home crowd, in which the 42-year-old was the boss on the sidelines. Before the duel with Hertha, VfB is in relegation rank 16. The Berliners are only 15th because of the better goal difference.
While Stuttgart lost 3-1 at Borussia Mönchengladbach last weekend, Hertha lost 3-2 to leaders FC Bayern Munich. Wimmer could do self-promotion with another success, because the future appointment of the head coach position at VfB will only be decided during the World Cup break. Before that, the Swabians will visit Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
