Baden-Württemberg: Wet Christmas in Baden-Württemberg

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - This year, the white Christmas falls in the truest sense of the word because of high temperatures. "On Christmas Eve there are occasional showers," explains Marco Puckert from the German Weather Service (DWD) in Stuttgart on Thursday. After all, it will remain free of precipitation in almost all of Baden-Württemberg when it gets dark. "The maximum daily temperatures are around twelve degrees and drop to seven to ten degrees later in the evening in the Stuttgart area."

There would be similarly mixed weather on the following Christmas holidays. "The temperature trend goes down a bit after Christmas," said the DWD spokesman. This could also lead to temporary snowfalls in the mountains.

According to the weather service, there will be heavy rainfall in some Black Forest regions on the days before Christmas, with 90 to 120 liters of rain per square meter, including gusts of wind. The website of the Baden-Württemberg flood forecasting center states that there may be slight flooding.
