Stutensee (dpa / lsw) - Residents in Stutensee (Karlsruhe district) tried to protect their properties from a wildfire with garden hoses. Up to 15 hectares of meadows and nature reserves near a housing estate were on fire on Wednesday, the police said. The fire spread to garden plots, wood piles, a vehicle trailer and a carport. The houses in the neighboring settlement were spared. Nobody was injured, the police assume property damage in the lower four-digit range. It was initially unclear why the fire broke out.
