Baden-Württemberg: Woman is thrown from the carousel and seriously injured

Vaihingen an der Enz (dpa / lsw) - A woman was thrown out of a ride at a city festival in the Ludwigsburg district and was seriously injured. The 55-year-old climbed into a carousel with her 20-year-old daughter at the festival in Vaihingen an der Enz on Tuesday evening, a police spokeswoman said on Wednesday. Shortly after the start of the journey, the safety bar of the two women came loose for reasons that are still unclear. The daughter was able to hold on, but the mother was thrown out of the gondola due to centrifugal force. The ride was stopped immediately and the woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
