Baden-Württemberg: workers' accommodation on Spargelhof is on fire: one injured

Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen (dpa/lsw) - In the fire in a workers' accommodation on an asparagus and strawberry farm, one person was injured and 55 residents had to get to safety. The fire broke out on Wednesday night on the site near Eggenstein-Leopoldhafen (Karlsruhe district), the police said. One person suffered burn injuries and was taken to the hospital. The other residents were unharmed, police said. It was initially unclear why the 24 residential containers had started to burn. The investigators suspected a technical defect.
