Karlsruhe (dpa / lsw) - After his successful comeback from the start, full-back Sebastian Jung is likely to be in the starting lineup of Karlsruher SC on Friday evening (6:30 p.m. / Sky). "I see every day what great quality he has on the ball," said coach Christian Eichner one day before the game of the Baden second division soccer team at bottom Arminia Bielefeld. Overall, Eichner looked back on the training week with satisfaction. "The boys understood what it takes to win a game," said the coach. There will therefore be no changes to the squad.
Eichner is particularly pleased about the competition on the right side of defence. Experienced youngster is working his way back to old strength there. He played against 1. FC Nürnberg (3-0) for the first time this season - and convinced. The 32-year-old has overcome the consequences of a cruciate ligament rupture that he suffered in September last year, as well as a second operation after complications at the end of April. Eichner doesn't want his praise for Jung to be understood as a weakness on the part of competitor Marco Thiede. "But it makes a difference whether you clear the ball or maybe have the opportunity to keep it in your own ranks again," said the coach.
Eichner does not want to underestimate the troubled Bundesliga relegated from Bielefeld. "This is a team that has a lot of guys who know this league," warned the 39-year-old.
