Basketball. Hungary is slapped by the Blues

Friday's defeat by Montenegro was rectified by the French basketball team, which beat Hungary 81-40 Monday in Mouilleron-le-Captif, (Vendee) during the final match of its first phase of qualification to the World-2023.

The Blues lost some of their Olympic vice-champion officers in Tokyo and were shocked 70-69 by the Montenegrins in Podgorica, their first setback in their race for the World Cup.

Vincent Collet's men responded perfectly to the Hungarians, thanks in part to the 15 points scored by Theo Maledon (21), who was the game's highest scorer after his 16 against Montenegro.

It was the third quarter that made the difference, and France won by an amazing 29-2!

The Blues were first in Group E, and had already qualified for the second round. However, they had to win. However, the points from round one will be retained in round two, which will start at the end August.

The French will start preparations for the Euro (September 1--18), with three matches against Italy, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
