Hof (dpa / lby) - In the Hof district, a teenager is said to have killed her newborn. The 17-year-old at the time of the crime is suspected of having killed her baby immediately after birth, a spokesman for the Hof public prosecutor confirmed on Friday. The "Süddeutsche Zeitung" had previously reported on the case, which is said to have happened on January 20th.
An arrest warrant was issued against the youngster on suspicion of manslaughter. According to "SZ", she had come to the hospital because of heavy bleeding; there it was noticed that she must have given birth to a child beforehand. Investigators then found the baby's body.
According to "SZ", nobody from the immediate family and circle of acquaintances of the young people knew about their pregnancy. According to the public prosecutor's office, she was also unknown to the youth welfare office until the act. With the help of an expert, the psychological situation of the accused at the time of the crime is now to be clarified.
