Dortmund (dpa / lby) - record winner FC Bayern Munich has to compete in the first round of the DFB Cup with third division soccer team Viktoria Köln. That was the result of the draw in the German Football Museum in Dortmund on Sunday evening. Cup defender RB Leipzig is a guest at the start of the new cup season at the regional league club Teutonia Ottensen, the Hamburg state winner. The former world champion Kevin Großkreutz drew a very attractive pairing for his former club Borussia Dortmund, who have to play for the third division team 1860 Munich.
Second division club Jahn Regensburg can once again look forward to a home game against 1. FC Köln. Third division promoted SpVgg Bayreuth also drew a very attractive opponent in Hamburger SV. Second division FC Ingolstadt receives Darmstadt 98, the regional division FV Illertissen the 1st FC Heidenheim.
The Bundesliga club FC Augsburg at BW Lohne as well as the second division clubs 1. FC Nürnberg at 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn and Greuther Fürth at the Stuttgarter Kickers have to play away as favorites.
The first round of the cup will be played from July 29th to August 1st. Because the Supercup between German champions FC Bayern Munich and cup winners RB Leipzig is also scheduled for July 30, the two top teams will not play their cup games until the end of August.
The second main round follows in October, the other rounds in the coming year. The final in the Berlin Olympic Stadium is scheduled for June 3, 2023.
