Bavaria: 1860 Presidency confirmed in office with a large majority

Munich (dpa / lby) - The presidency of the third division football club TSV 1860 Munich has been confirmed in office until 2025 with a large majority. President Robert Reisinger received 290 yes votes from the 310 members present, Vice President and Treasurer Heinz Schmidt received 291 yes votes and Vice President Hans Sitzberger even received 302 votes "Yes".

"Three days ago, as President of TSV 1860 Munich, I was in office for exactly 1860 days," said Reisinger, earning applause at the four-hour general meeting on Sunday in Munich.

Reisinger (58) reported that the number of members at the traditional club had been increasing for five years, and in June it had 23,529 members. The sporting balance was very positive with regard to the junior teams. "TSV 1860 and all its youth teams are in the highest performance class," said the President. The club also intends to train talented players for the professional sector.

According to the wishes of him and the fans, the professionals should return to the second division as soon as possible. In the past two seasons, the "Lions" had just failed to achieve this goal in fourth place. The 1966 champions were relegated from the second division five years ago. Sports director Günther Gorenzel has "over the years managed to form a team with sympathizers," said Reisinger.

Reisinger emphasized that the financial requirements for the past and the coming financial year are covered. But Sixty is still "a heavily over-indebted company," he warned. "The course of reasonable management must also be maintained in the event of promotion." In the 2nd Bundesliga, too, the club would "not recover financially as if by magic".
