Bavaria: 19 migrants picked up in Lower Bavaria at night

Postmünster (dpa / lby) - 19 migrants were picked up by the police in Lower Bavaria. The refugees from Syria between the ages of 13 and 45 were walking near Postmünster (Rottal-Inn district) on Tuesday night, as the federal police announced on Wednesday. Among other things, the migrants stayed in a forest. They had no ID with them and stated that they had been smuggled to Germany in a truck, it said.

After several tips about the refugees, the police searched for the people with patrol cars and a helicopter. The federal police in Passau, according to their own statements, initiated an investigation into the smuggling of foreigners. Those who were smuggled received reports of unauthorized entry.

16 people were handed over to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees or to the youth welfare office. The deportation to Bulgaria is planned for three people because they had already submitted a request for protection there.
