Laugna (dpa / lby) - A 48-year-old died in a motorcycle accident in northern Swabia. According to initial findings, the driver was driving too fast during a test drive on Sunday and then left the road, as the police announced on Monday. The man was thrown into a ditch near Laugna (district of Dillingen an der Donau) and suffered fatal injuries. Officials believe no one but the man was involved in the accident.
The seriously injured man died at the scene before the ambulance arrived. The police could not identify the man for several hours because he did not have any papers with him. The vehicle also had no license plates. When the relatives then called the officials and wanted to submit a missing person report, the officials suspected that it could be the dead person. Witness statements and the chassis number made it possible to definitively identify the man.
