Mittenwald (dpa / lby) - A 65-year-old from Abensberg in Lower Bavaria died in a crash on Mittenwalder Höhenweg. The man slipped shortly after the southern Linderspitze and fell about 200 meters over steep, rocky and grassy terrain, the police in Penzberg reported on Tuesday. After the accident, an emergency doctor flew by helicopter to the scene of the accident on Monday morning, but he was only able to determine that the casualty had died.
According to the police, the 65-year-old was experienced in the mountains and well equipped. The Mittenwald mountain rescue rescued the mountaineer, who had been traveling with a 42-year-old Abensberg woman.
