Bavaria: 78-year-old mushroom picker has to spend the night in the forest

Großmus (dpa/lby) - After a fall in the forest, a 78-year-old mushroom seeker in Lower Bavaria had to endure the night of Saturday in the forest. After his niece reported him missing early in the morning, a large contingent of rescue workers including mountain rescue services and dogs went in search. A police helicopter flew over the forest near Großmuß in the Kelheim district. Around 9:10 a.m., a mushroom picker discovered the man from Rottenburg an der Laaber in the undergrowth, the police in Kehlheim said on Saturday. The fire brigade and mountain rescue rescued the severely hypothermic 78-year-old, who was taken to the hospital.
