Munich (dpa/lby) - After a cyber attack on the Munich-Land media center, numerous schools in Upper Bavaria can no longer access their data. The Munich district office announced on Monday that 55 schools in the Munich district and 20 primary and secondary schools in the Berchtesgadener Land district were affected. Other areas of the media center such as the IT systems of the district administration were not affected.
The server of the media center was hacked last Thursday and the data on it became unreadable. However, it is very unlikely that they would fall into the hands of strangers. The attack was discovered within a few minutes and the connections between the servers and the Internet were interrupted.
