Marktsteft (dpa / lby) - An eight-year-old is still in mortal danger after a swimming accident in the bay near Marktsteft (Kitzingen district). It is still unclear why the boy went down in the Main last Sunday, as the police announced on Thursday. Investigators are now looking for two boatmen as witnesses. It is not assumed that the two were involved in the swimming accident, the message says.
The eight-year-old went swimming with his mother in the bay in Marktsteft on Sunday. Suddenly his mother couldn't see the boy anymore and called for him. An 18-year-old finally discovered him under the water surface and brought him to shore. Paramedics took him to the hospital.
