Munich (dpa / lby) - After a two-year Corona break, the Christmas market is returning to Munich's Marienplatz. Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) opens the market on Monday (5 p.m.) from the town hall balcony. According to the city, there will be no more corona restrictions this year. According to the city, the highlights of the market, which is open until Christmas Day, include the Advent music that sounds live from the balcony of the town hall and the Christmas tree with its around 3000 LED candles.
The Augsburg Christmas market, which is one of the oldest Christmas markets in Germany, also starts on Monday. One of the most famous markets in the country, the Nuremberg Christkindlmarkt, begins on Friday (November 25).
