Bavaria: After finding a dead boy: further search measures by the police

Vohburg (dpa / lby) - After finding a dead four to six-year-old boy in the Danube, the police are planning further search measures near Vohburg in Upper Bavaria this Thursday (9:00 a.m.). The flotsam caught by the rake of the hydroelectric power station near Vohburg is to be examined with sniffer dogs in order to look for possible pieces of evidence there. Objects are sieved out of the river with the barrage rake so that the foreign objects do not damage the power plant technology.

It is also planned to examine the Danube in front of the barrage with the help of the Federal Agency for Technical Relief and a sonar device. The police had to stop a first action last week because the water was too choppy. The technology could possibly be used to locate suspicious objects at the bottom of the river.

The week before last, a canoeist discovered the boy's body in the river near Vohburg (Pfaffenhofen/Ilm district). The dead boy was wrapped up and had been in the water for a long time. The Ingolstadt criminal police have formed an investigation team. The investigators are waiting for further information, including from the ongoing forensic examination of the corpse. How the boy died is so far unclear.
