Bavaria: Against the nationwide trend: More forced evictions in Bavaria

Berlin (dpa / lby) - In Bavaria there were significantly more forced evictions in the past year. This is the result of statistics published by the Ministry of Justice in response to a question from the left in the Bundestag and available to the German Press Agency. According to this, there was an increase of almost 20 percent in the Free State to 3432 evictions last year. This put Bavaria in second place nationwide, behind North Rhine-Westphalia. The development in the Free State is thus running counter to the downward national trend.

"Every eviction is one too many," said Leftist housing policy expert Caren Lay. In the currently tense housing markets, this often means homelessness. Anyone who has just survived the corona pandemic financially should not be thrown out during the energy crisis. The politician calls for a "winter package for warm and safe living". Terminations due to payment difficulties must be excluded and evictions into homelessness prohibited.
