The bomb was found during construction work in a residential area on the same day. "It went absolutely positively," said a spokesman for the city of Geretsried. The evacuation of the approximately 2,700 people affected was carried out very quickly. According to him, around 100 emergency services were deployed.

The residents in the security area of ​​300 meters had to leave their homes. Contact points have been set up for them in the town hall and in a school. Roadblocks in the immediate vicinity had also been set up.
