Bavaria: Another kilometer-long traffic jam due to truck block handling

Rosenheim (dpa / lby) - Block processing at the border: Trucks were backed up for up to 52 kilometers on the Austrian inner valley motorway on Friday. At times, the Austrian authorities only allowed up to 100 trucks per hour to continue driving, the police said on Friday. Later it was a maximum of 200 per hour. The police had already expected the large number of trucks in advance. Because of a holiday, there was a truck driving ban in Tyrol on Thursday. Many trucks were therefore already waiting in the parking lots near the border. The traffic jam has now largely cleared up.

Restrictions for trucks on the Tyrolean Autobahn have repeatedly led to long traffic jams on the A93 in Bavaria in recent weeks. According to the information, the next block handling is planned for December 13th and 14th.
