Freising (dpa / lby) - On the Autobahn 92, a semi-trailer truck drove into a presumably unlit small van in the right lane without braking. According to initial findings, the driver of the van parked his vehicle on Saturday night after a breakdown without lighting or other protection, the police said on Saturday morning. The driver of the semi-trailer recognized the obstacle too late, and his vehicle collided with the van.
The 57-year-old driver of the semitrailer suffered moderate facial injuries in the collision between the Freising-Süd junction and the airport interchange. The driver of the van was not in the vehicle at the time of the impact. Two lanes of the three-lane motorway were closed in the direction of Deggendorf until early Saturday morning.
The driver of the van is now being investigated on suspicion of endangering road traffic. The total damage to both vehicles is estimated at around 55,000 euros.
