Eichstätt (dpa / lby) - Minister of Art Markus Blume (CSU) honored 21 choirs and music groups from all over Bavaria on the occasion of their 100th anniversary. "With splendor and glory we celebrate our Bavarian amateur music!" Without them it would be quiet in Bavaria, said Blume at the ceremony on Sunday in Eichstätt.
The Zelter badge was given to 16 vocal ensembles, the Pro-Musica badge went to 5 instrumental groups. The Federal President's award recognizes amateur music ensembles that have devoted themselves intensively and successfully to choral and instrumental music for at least 100 years.
