Bavaria: Bavaria only checks third vaccinations for new employees

Munich (dpa/lby) - As of October 1, Bavaria only requires newly hired nursing staff and other employees affected by the facility-related vaccination requirement to have a corona vaccination certificate in accordance with the new, stricter rules. The Bavarian Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) said on Saturday that no new proof was required from people who were already employed.

"Anyone who started their job before October 1st will remain the same for them. Only two vaccinations or one vaccination and a surviving infection must be proven," explained Holetschek. "This is a massive relief for those affected, institutions, companies and health authorities."

From October 1st, who is considered fully vaccinated will be tightened. Roughly speaking, three vaccinations or two vaccinations and a proven infection are then necessary.
