Bavaria: Bicycles can be taken on the S-Bahn all day during the holidays

Munich (dpa / lby) - This year, cyclists are allowed to take their bikes with them all day long on the Munich S-Bahn during the summer holidays - provided they have the appropriate ticket. According to information from Friday, Deutsche Bahn is extending its test to lift the morning blocking times for bicycles during the holidays. As early as the first half of the year, day trippers were exceptionally allowed to take their bikes with them all day during the holidays. The extension to the particularly high-demand summer holidays is now the acid test, explained S-Bahn boss Heiko Büttner.

On school days, bicycles are not allowed on the Munich S-Bahn between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. During the holidays, the closing time in the afternoon has already been omitted. The bicycle ticket for the MVV currently costs 3.10 euros.
