Bamberg/Hirschaid (dpa/lby) - In five schools in the Bamberg area, burglars stole money within a week - including from teachers' lockers. The burglaries are assumed to be related, the police said on Tuesday. In the past week, the perpetrators broke into three high schools and a secondary and business school in Bamberg as well as the secondary school in Hirschaid (Bamberg district), said a spokeswoman for the police headquarters in Upper Franconia.
There they broke open lockers and stole money from them. How much the thieves stole is still open. The investigators estimate that the burglaries caused several thousand euros in property damage. The Bamberg criminal police are investigating and looking for possible witnesses.
