Bavaria: Cabinet knocks down position for federal-state conference

Munich (dpa / lby) - Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) gathers the members of his cabinet in Munich on Tuesday for his weekly meeting. Among other things, the government wants to cement its position for the upcoming prime ministerial conference with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD). Bavaria has been complaining for a long time that the federal states are not involved enough in the federal government's policy to combat the energy price crisis, but that they have to share in the costs.

Söder presented another ten-point list of demands on Monday. Among other things, the gas surcharge would have to fall and braking mechanisms for the prices of electricity, gas and petrol would have to be introduced.

According to reports, the cabinet also wants to deal with the housing situation in Bavaria. The new construction of living space is paralyzed, among other things, because of the high construction costs and the shortage of building materials.
